The ICO is the first instrument on Memmert's next-generation product platform. A seamless inner chamber of polished stainless steel and 180 °C sterilisation eliminate contamination risk between runs without disassembly. Active humidity control replaces passive water pan design, providing faster recovery after door openings.

Advanced connectivity (Ethernet, WiFi, mobile app) allows each cell culture to be monitored in real-time and linked to the facility's documentation system. With AtmoCONTROL and 21 CFR Part 11 support, the ICO is immediately ready for GMP-controlled pharmaceutical production and biomedical research where traceability is mandatory.

For laboratories currently running older CO₂ incubators, the ICO is an upgrade where hygienic design, energy efficiency and connectivity justify the switch, particularly in facilities with multiple units where operating cost per incubator makes a real difference.
