EMP-3 is NIC's portable CVAAS meter for gaseous elemental mercury. It is used for real-time measurement in the field, at mercury leaks, decontamination work, natural gas/LPG sampling and periodic occupational health monitoring in dental laboratories and industrial facilities.

Direct reading without sample preparation, long battery life and a built-in data logger make the EMP-3 suitable as a complement to stationary MA/RA systems where rapid field verification is required.
