Laboratory furnaces for metallurgical quality labs.

For Swedish metallurgy, we configure Nabertherm laboratory furnaces in four application classes. Configuration is based on the facility's sample type, daily sample volume, and temperature requirements per method.

Nabertherm laboratory furnaces for metallurgical QA labs

German manufacturer with extensive experience in thermal processes for analytical and industrial applications. The Labsense portfolio includes muffle furnaces for ashing concentrate samples prior to XRF, chamber furnaces for annealing and drying, high-temperature furnaces for sintering and alloy analysis, as well as drying ovens for thermal pre-treatment in conjunction with fusion. The furnaces are configured with temperature profile, chamber size, and controller specification to meet the facility's methodology requirements. Options for controlled atmosphere are available where the method requires it.

    Applications in Nordic metallurgy.

In metallurgical QA labs, the furnace is often the first step in the measurement workflow. Samples must be dried, annealed, or ashed before proceeding to XRF analysis or fusion digestion. When the furnace is unstable or miscalibrated, the deviation propagates through the entire calibration chain. Configuration is performed against three application clusters in the Nordic metallurgy business.

Sample preparation for XRF and fusion

    • Ashing of concentrate samples and organic material for pure XRF matrices
    • Drying of samples with varying moisture content for reproducible weighing
    • Ignition before fusion where the method requires a dry sample

    Sintering and alloy analysis

    • Sintering of powder samples for subsequent analysis or material testing
    • Ignition test for heat-treated alloy samples
    • Thermal preparation for quality control in secondary metallurgy

    Thermal pre-treatment in quality labs

    • Standardised drying according to the plant's method documentation
    • Pre-treatment of reference materials prior to calibration of other instruments
    • Combustion analysis where the method specifies a controlled temperature ramp

Service and support from our own engineers.

    Om vår service

Standards, reference methods, and calibration traceability.

The temperature maintained by the furnace must be traceable to a known reference. Initial calibration is built against certified thermocouples in the temperature zones required by your method. Recalibration is scheduled according to an agreed service plan and documented in accordance with your quality systems.

    • ISO 17025 for traceability in calibration, documentation and reporting.
    • Temperature calibration against certified thermocouples in method-specific temperature zones.
    • Verification through repeated measurements distributed across the entire working range.
    • Documented calibration protocols that are directly usable in your accreditation or audit folders.
