    We specify and commission the KPM Analytics online-NIR range, MCT560, MCT460, MCT566, NIR-7000 and Guardian-HD, for non-contact online measurement of moisture, oil/fat, and coat weight in paper mills, OSB, snacks drying, and other drying processes. In addition, we deliver KPM's rheology portfolio, Mixolab and Alveolab, for bakeries and flour mills. Real-time data is delivered to your PLC or DCS system. The installation includes application-specific calibration against certified reference methods, commissioning on site, and traceable method documentation in accordance with ISO 17025.

    KPM MCT560 online NIR sensor for moisture and oil measurement in process

    Broad online NIR portfolio for Swedish mill processes.

    Each sensor is specified against the plant's specific sample portfolio, web type, speed, mounting distance, measurement frequency, and reference method. Configuration is carried out together with your process engineer and laboratory, and validated against certified reference materials.

    MCT560 online NIR

    MCT560 provides continuous non-contact measurement of moisture and oil in process, integrated directly with your PLC or DCS system via 4–20 mA, Modbus or Ethernet/IP. The sensor is mounted above the web, screw conveyor or free-fall stream and calibrated application-specifically using the SensorVu software. The MCT566 and MCT569 variants extend the wavelength range for additional process samples. Commissioning, application calibration and a service contract are included.

    How MCT560 is used in Nordic process industry.

    MCT560 is specified for three application clusters in the Swedish market. The core function is real-time control of moisture and oil directly in process — without sampling, without drying loss, without lag relative to the laboratory. The sensor integrates with your PLC or DCS system and drives feedback in drying, dosing or quality alarms.

    Pulp & paper and board production

    • Online moisture measurement in paper web for the drying section, feedback to steam control
    • Spot sampling is replaced by continuous measurement across the full web width where multiple sensors are used
    • Contributes to reduced waste and more stable basis weight in combination with wavelength selection for different paper grades

    OSB, wood-based panels, wood pellets and biomass drying

    KPM's NIR sensors work against reference methods already recognised by your QA organisation and your customers' auditors. Initial calibration is built application-specifically against certified reference materials and the site's own laboratory method (typically loss on drying per ISO or TAPPI). Re-calibration is scheduled according to the agreed service plan.

    • ISO 17025 for traceability in calibration, documentation and reporting.
    • ISO 287 for determination of moisture content in paper and board (reference method for MCT560 calibration in paper mills).
    • TAPPI T412 for moisture content in pulp and paper (alternative reference).
    • Calibration against certified reference materials matched to your site's product portfolio. Verification by duplicate determinations distributed across the full calibration range.
